Robotic Utility Tank RUT

During the final year of my undergraduate studies, I assumed the pivotal role of CAD Supervisor for the Mechatronics Capstone, a responsibility that entailed overseeing the Computer-Aided Design aspects of the project. Additionally, I took charge of the design and 3D printing of various components, prominently including the arm links.

The primary focus of this capstone project was to tackle the challenge of human involvement in hazardous environments. Our team pursued an innovative approach, crafting a design that enabled basic operations to be conducted remotely through virtual reality (VR) interfaces. This solution aimed to enhance safety by minimizing direct human exposure to perilous conditions.

Integral to the project was the enhancement of a tank prototype from a prior capstone. Our team not only improved the mobility of the tank but also seamlessly integrated an articulated arm, a feature crucial to the project's overall functionality. The collaborative effort resulted in a comprehensive solution that not only addressed the initial challenge but also showcased the adaptability and ingenuity of our team.

This experience as CAD Supervisor and Design Lead not only honed my technical expertise in mechatronics but also reinforced my leadership and project management skills. This project served as a pivotal learning experience, impressing upon me the critical significance of effective communication and seamless teamwork. The accomplishment of our objectives was unequivocally a result of the collective efforts of each team member, emphasizing the value of collaboration and synergy in achieving shared goals.

As I reflect on this project, I recognize it as a foundational stepping stone in the early stages of my professional journey. The insights gained from navigating the complexities of this collaborative endeavor have equipped me with a robust understanding of the collaborative dynamics essential for success in the professional arena. I am confident that this experience has laid a solid groundwork, positioning me for a promising start to my professional career.
